Carbon steel is an iron-carbon alloy with a carbon content of 0.0218% to 2.11%. Also called carbon steel. Generally also contain a small amount of silicon, manganese, sulfur, phosphorus. Generally, the higher the carbon content in carbon steel, the greater the hardness and the higher the strength, but the lower the plasticity.

High carbon steel is often called tool steel, with a carbon content ranging from 0.60% to 2.11%, and can be hardened and tempered. Hammers, crowbars, etc. are made of steel with a carbon content of 0.75%; cutting tools such as drills, taps, reamers, etc. are made of steel with a carbon content of 0.90% to 1.00%. SK5: A Japanese ultra-high carbon tool steel, with a carbon content between 0.80% and 0.90%, has high hardness and wear resistance, and is usually used to manufacture saw blades, knives, springs, and hammerheads.

T10: A Chinese ultra-high carbon tool steel with a carbon content between 1.00% and 1.10%, which has high hardness and strength, and is usually used to make knives, coolers, and grinding tools, etc.

C105U: A European ultra-high carbon tool steel with a carbon content between 1.05% and 1.20%. It has extremely high hardness and strength. It is usually used in the manufacture of saw blades, knives, and cutting tools.
